pros and cons of having a answering service

I was asked the pros and cons of having an answering service.
So, I will start with the cons: different people answering every call, hard to build a relationship with your clients,  heavy accents, and worrying about your confidentiality.
Lets do the pros: never miss a call or potentially client,  pre screen your calls, save money on full/part time employees, voice mail assistance, schedule your appointment, emergency calls dispatched and low cost.

idea and opinion survey

Today I took a survey on womens ideas and opinions.  Survey was pretty interesting.  It asked questions about if I was a leader of a community how would I keep crime down,  how would I enforce rules, how would I change the school system for the better, among other similar questions. Which it really did get me thinking, especially when it asked my opinion on our current prison system and welfare system.  The survey asked questions I was not expecting,  which is why I found it interesting. Just for taking the survey, I got a Steelers scoreboard alarm clock off of Poker's Mr. Pro Players website; since I answered the bonus/quiz correct, I got gift cards from pizza Hut and Aeropostale along with 2 free nights stsy at a hotel! So, I'm happy I took the time to do the survey,  not only do I get free stuff but it got me "thinking".

A small business is a privately owned and operated business; usually with limited number of employees.
The success of the business depends on the owner.  If they treat their customers with respect,  are honest and hard working.
A good reputation is very important for all small businesses.

another cold Saturday morning

It is just down right cold out... Very glad I work from home, I would not to be out in this weather.. It's going to last for another week. Plus We are getting more snow on top of what we already have: since it's been too cold for it to melt... hopefully you don't have to go out in this, but if you do keep warm! Be Safe..

social networking again

Ok, so as I blogged last time about all the social networking sites out there and how it was overwhelming.  I decided to to register on the sites that consistently popped up in the top 10: Facebook,  Twitter, LinkedIn, blogspot, Pinterest and Google+.. I am new to pinterest and Google+, so I am still trying to figure them out- which I will eventually... I'm not sure if these sites are right for our business yet, so we will see.

Social Networking

Ok, so most articles say to use social networking sites as a marketing tool, so I started looking into it. I never realized how many social networking sites there was out there.  It's just mind boggling trying to figure out which ones. I've never heard of over 3/4 of the sites, so I don't know which I should be using to help market.  I am open to any and all suggestions...

Learning as we go!

We are now in our 5th month of operating our own Answering Service.  We have a few clients- but not enough! We've been busy figuring everything out and getting our business up and running.  We've had a few surprises.  Such as advertising, its more expensive than we had anticipated.  Marketing also, its more time consuming than we thought it would be. We do realize that both advertising and marketing are vital parts in helping our business succeed. In the past 5 months we've learned starting a business is time consuming and takes dedication.  We know we have a lot more to learn on our journey to being successful business owners.
